Support Guide for Addressing
At the forefront of bringing copper toxicity education and support to the world, since 2014.
On this page you'll find the most comprehensive collection of support resources available, to help you find the clear answers you're looking for.
From understanding symptoms, to proper testing, to finding support for healing, and everything in between, the resources below (in no particular order of importance) address it all.
Did you know... many copper toxicity symptoms mirror that of deficiency? Like dying of thirst in the middle of an ocean, with water all around but none of it drinkable, copper toxicity is similar - lots of copper, but it's not usable.
Since excess copper is stored in tissue, not blood, copper toxicity often goes unrecognized due to over-reliance on the blood level. The suppression of HTMA (tissue mineral testing) serves to keep copper toxicity off the radar.
So often confused and over-simplified by the idea of just having to detox the copper level itself, healing instead is multi-faceted, and requires a much deeper understanding than 'just taking zinc' or lowering copper.
Most comprehensive online education & support site,

Copper IUD Symptoms?
Are your symptoms related?
Every day, countless women are reaching out on forums asking if there might be some connection between their fatigue, depression, gut issues, anxiety, etc... and their IUD, often with their doctors denying any possible connection. While there can certainly be other contributing causes behind these symptoms, the copper IUD (which affects the body's mineral system) indeed has clear connections. This page offers a simple summary of how the copper IUD contributes to some of the more commonly seen symptoms.
and Support Protocols
Blood testing is far less likely to pick up copper toxicity than a properly interpreted HTMA (Hair Analysis). There are many forms of HTMA however. Not all are suitable for the purpose of mineral balancing or understanding copper. Working with the right lab and the right type of hair analysis is essential.
Equally important is not relying on automated reports or reading a chart at face value. This causes so much confusion, especially because a toxicity condition can exist even with a low or "normal" HTMA copper level. This is why it's so important to work with a professional who'll take the time to help you understand your chart.
We provide leadership in HTMA. Our work and trainings have helped educate many of today's HTMA and "copper" practitioners, and our HTMA protocols have supported thousands of individual patients. We provide the HTMA test at a lower cost than most, plus we specialize in personalized protocols and offer various package options designed to support YOUR unique health situation...and budget!
90 Day Copper Toxicity
After living 30 years suffering from copper imbalance, Kirby set out on her own healing journey to address copper toxicity. Alongside her healing journey, she made it a mission to help others going through similar.
Kirby's healing program, offered here exclusively, supports the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of healing from copper imbalance.
Facebook Support Group
While it's great to see discussion groups on this topic increasing over the years since we began this work, it's also led to an increase in confusion when it comes to how to heal/detox. Rather than helping share key support resources such as offered here, members on one of the largest FB support groups are left navigating a flood of misinformed suggestions on a daily basis, while new practitioners have created their own splinter groups to drum up business. All of this has increased confusion, and drowns out the education provided here. For this reason, we finally felt it necessary to begin an expert-led group to help bring clarity - a support group based on leading expertise, years of clinical experience, and decades of focused research in the field.
Advance Your Education
on Minerals and Health
Whether it's copper toxicity (which is never just about copper but also affects other minerals), or widespread deficiencies of zinc or potassium, or the mental health effects of mineral imbalances, or how mineral imbalances open the door to increased effects of toxic metals like mercury, etc... these are connections being rarely taught, yet so fundamental to health.
The Mineral Mastery course is the original self-study program designed to educate both the general public and practitioners on copper toxicity, the effects of other various mineral imbalances, how these imbalances connect to each other, how to detox, etc. Many practitioners offering copper toxicity support have been students of Mineral Mastery, though the course is equally designed for the everyday person too. This immensely eye-opening course is the golden ticket to understanding your body and better supporting & protecting your health... today, and down the road!
More Info on HTMA & Minerals
While Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA) is considered the gold standard test for understanding copper toxicity and its effects on the mineral system and health, there are numerous forms of hair analysis on the market, and not all are suited for this purpose. The annual HTMA Virtual Summit brings together pioneers and leaders in the field of HTMA and copper toxicity, offering free presentations to help people understand what to look for when ordering HTMA, how copper toxicity works, the effects of various other mineral imbalances on health, and much more.

A Few Frequently Asked Questions
The body is always working to regulate itself, and over time it's certainly possible to feel better and 'heal' without doing anything. However, most people aren't that lucky. It's important to understand that there are numerous reasons behind copper toxicity, and so even if you remove one obvious source of exposure, that by itself is unlikely to restore a healthy copper level in the body. Symptoms may disappear short-term, and yet an underlying imbalance (usually not detected in blood) might then manifest as symptoms years or decades later. Understanding the various causes behind copper toxicity and issues with copper metabolism, supporting your body's detoxification pathways, and targeted nutritional support as guided by HTMA monitoring, can all facilitate (and potentially speed up) the healing process.
By itself, absolutely not. First, the type of test matters. If it's blood, blood is homeostatic, always working to maintain a healthy range. Excess copper does not remain in, and is not stored, in blood!
The HTMA (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis) provides much better insight into copper toxicity (alongside other mineral and toxic imbalances)...as long as it's the right type of hair analysis, as there are many types on the market. It's important to keep in mind that HTMA copper can appear low, even with copper toxicity. Many people get led astray when they simply order a test and read it at face value. HTMA levels should NOT be read at face value, and people should not attempt to self-analyze their chart, as doing so only leads to confusion. Copper toxicity is best understood through mineral "patterns", rather than the individual copper level itself. It's imperative to work with a practitioner well-trained in HTMA to guide you in understanding what your levels mean and help you gain the most from your test data.
Many people over the years have fallen victim to the message that HTMA is quackery or not a valid testing method, completely unaware of where that message originated. The background of that message is explained further on THIS PAGE under the heading "Why is HTMA Not More Commonly Used? Is it a Legitimate Test? Is it a Scam?" While there are certainly some "hair analysis" services that would not be considered reputable and could justify the label of being "illegitimate", properly assayed and interpreted HTMA is one of the most important screening tools for understanding mineral imbalances, especially copper toxicity. Those who contribute to suppressing HTMA are only holding others back from finding answers that in some cases could have saved lives. This article further explains the benefits of HTMA over standard blood testing.
Our work helping to increase copper toxicity awareness over this past decade has led to a large increase in more practitioners today now offering support. However, experience matters, and certainly not all those who advertise their copper healing programs are adequately qualified. This link provides important considerations that will help you choose a qualified practitioner, especially when it comes to supporting you with copper toxicity.
Since 2014, Rick Fischer has been at the global forefront of increasing copper toxicity awareness and advancing mineral-based health education. His thousands of hours of research and years of volunteer time led to the creation of www.coppertoxic, which over the years has served as a key educational resource for patients, health writers, and practitioners.
Rick Fischer is truly the expert on copper toxicity, which has become more and more of an epidemic health issue with each passing decade. He has made outstanding contributions to advancing the field of HTMA, minerals, and our understanding of the profound adverse
effects of copper toxicity.
